About Project

Chahfiroozeh Copper Concentrator Plant (Feed of 7,000,000 tonnes per year)

A) To process the Chahfiroozeh copper ore, construction of a concentrator plant started with below specification:

  • Feed                                       7 million tonnes per year of sulfide copper ore
  • Product                                   100,000 tonnes concentrate with the grade of 25%
  • Water consumption                75 liter per second( considering using filter press for dewatering)
  • Power consumption                38 MW
  • Employment                            337 people (Operation) and 167 people (administration)

B) Below activities was done up to this stage:

  • Drilling of about 69,000 meters of exploration bore holes.
  • Pre-feasibility study
  • Pre- stripping of about 50 million tonnes of waste until the end of 2015
  • Mineral processing test which was done by Zarfaravar Company (Iranian company)
  • Mineral processing test which was done by S.G.S
  • Basic engineering of the concentration plant was done by FLSmidth Co.
  • Basic engineering of the dewatering plant was done by Paterson & Cooke
  • Price enquiry for dewatering equipment from Outotec, Tenova, Ishigaki  and Bilfinger (based on the test works which was done on the tail)
  • Feasibility study of the project
  • Signing the contract with Aria Jonoob company for pre-stripping of about 10 million tonnes per year until 2019
  • Beginning the geotechnical studies by Zamiran Co.
  • Site selection for primary crusher, grinding and flotation plant, tail dewatering, water reservoirs and electrical substation
  • Determination of the best route for transferring the power to the plant from 400KVA Khatoonabad post
  • Price enquiry for transferring the power to the plant
  • Determination  of the best route for transporting the tail from concentration plant to dewatering plant
  • Determination of the best route to access min and concentration plant
  • Preparation of the prequalification document for selecting the EPCF Contractor
  • Preparation of the tender document for selecting the EPCF Contractor
